The Oregon Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Treatment Clinic is pleased to announce that we are going to be one of the very first locations in the United States to provide the narrow mod by Moto Lenore system for tinnitus treatment.
This new program was developed in Ireland and has only been available in a couple of other places for the last few years. It is finally going to go through the very rigorous food and drug administration standards to make it in to the United States for distribution.
So many people have been waiting for this option to help treat there tonight is in the United States and we are thrilled to be one of the baddest sites that’s going to be allowed to offer this bimodal device beginning in April 2023.
This special device offers a dual sensory approach to treating your tinnitus. There is a tongue tip electrode unit that stimulates your nervous system through a controlled stimuli and there are headphones that you wear that provide a very specified auditory therapy and together these two forms of stimulation have been showing very good results in reducing the volume and the annoyance of the tinnitus.
We are going to be providing the equipment and follow up for this particular protocol in our clinic and already have a long list of those interested in trying this brand new method. Dr. Johnson is traveling to Ireland in March to be fully trained in the application and use of the device as well as assisting in providing insights into how this unit may be fit in clinics in the United States. With her 27 years in experience and helping people with tinnitus and hyperacusis and Misophonia, she is very excited to be able to finally give this wonderful new therapy a home in the Northwest.
We will have more details on pricing and scheduling opportunities in the near future. We’re fairly certain this will not be covered by insurance companies because again it is not a hearing aid.
